A Community of Artists and People Interested in the Arts
Our Mission Statement: The Southern Shore Art Association creates and stimulates interest in the visual arts by offering exhibits, educational opportunities and social events for our members and for the community.
On the shores of Lake Michigan bordering Indiana and Michigan, The Southern Shore Art Association is an inspiring non-profit art organization that welcomes all artists in the Northwest Indiana, Illinois and Michiana areas. With over 100 artist members and growing, the SSAA helps promote all artists by offering member and non-member shows, classes, scheduled monthly critiques and a wonderful sense of community. The SSAA also invites other art organizations or individual non-member artists to exhibit and promote their art in our member/guest exhibits.
Our beautiful gallery at 724 Franklin Street, Michigan City, Indiana has ongoing monthly exhibits with hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 5pm and on the First Friday of the month from Noon to 8pm. As part of the Michigan City IN Arts District, "First Fridays @ Five" is a joint project with the Uptown Arts District, http://www.uptownartsdistrict.org/.
If you would like to be on the email list to receive The Palette, our monthly newsletter, please send an email to email@example.com for all the current news from SSAA.
Artist studio space is available for rent in our building. Please call Arnold Besse at (219) 879-8523 and mention that "Southern Shore sent you".
